Updating the Target Rent

Description

You can track the target rent on all buildings and units.  This feature allows you to see a history of target rent fluctuation and to run a report on the data.  You can also set the frequency of the target rent (i.e. weekly, monthly, etc).  Users that subscribe to Propertyware's Marketing and Sites services will see the target rent frequency carry over to their rental listings.

Changing Target Rent

Steps

1.       Navigate to the Properties tab in Propertyware

2.       In the navigator, click the building/unit.

3.       Click the Change button next to the Target Rent field.

4.       The Target Rent Change window will appear.

5.       Enter the New Target Rent and add a Reason for Change.

6.       Click the Save button.

Reviewing Target Rent Changes

Once the target rent is updated, a line item will be created in the Target Rent History tab at the bottom of that Properties page.  There will also be an option to Add a Target Rent Change.

Creating the Target Rent Changes Report

Steps

1.       Navigate to the Reports tab.

2.       Click the New Report button located at the top of the page.

3.       Select Property Reports from the dropdown.

4.       Select the Target Rent Changes report from the Report On: field.

5.       Click the Save and Customize button.

6.       The report will display.

7.       Click Toggle Options button to create filters or customize the columns.

8.       The report will now appear in the list of Property reports.

Updating Target Rent Using Grid Edit

You can also update the target rent using the Grid Edit feature in Propertyware.  However, using Grid Edit to update target rent will bypass Propertyware’s reporting history and therefore, will not appear in the Target Rent history tab or the Target Rent report.

Steps

1.       Navigate to the Properties tab in Propertyware.

2.       In the navigator, click the portfolio.

3.       In the Related Activities section, click the Grid Edit link.

4.       Select either All Buildings or All Rentable Units from the dropdown.

5.       Click the Edit Columns button.

6.       Select Target Rent Units from the Available Columns and click the right arrow to move it to Selected Columns.

7.       Target Rent will now appear as a selected column.  Click Save.

Note:  You will only have to add Target Rent to the selected columns one time.  Once it is added, it will always appear as a column.

8.       Locate the buildings/units you want to update, click in the Target Rent field and change the target rent.

Note:  The change to the Target Rent field is automatically saved when you edit the field and click off of the text box.

Mass Updating Target Rent using Grid Edit

Steps

1.       Click the Mass Update button.

2.       The Mass Update window will appear.  Select Target Rent from the dropdown.

3.       Enter the new target rent in the New Value field.

4.       Click the Submit button.

IMPORTANT:  Mass Update will update every Property/Unit.  If this change does not impact all buildings/units, you should make this change on a property/unit basis.
