Update Company Name within Propertware

If your company name changes and you want to reflect the new name within Propertyware, you will need to update your company name in several locations.  Note that some of these changes can only be done by users with administrative rights.

The following information needs to be updated under Setup:

·         Company Info

·         Chart of Accounts

The following information needs to be updated under Properties:

·         Portfolio Name

·         Portfolio Abbreviation

The following information needs to be updated under Money Out:

·         Management Company Vendor

The following information needs to be updated under Portals:

·         Propertyware Portal URL

·         Content Header

Follow the steps below to make these updates.

Update the following fields within Setup

Company Info

1.   Navigate to the Company Info section within Setup.

2.   Click Edit.

3.   Update the Company Name and click Save.

Note:   Updating the company name in this field will not update the Company field on the User Account page for existing users who are also employees of your company.  If you want to update the Company field for existing users to reflect your new company name, you will have to do so under Manage Users, editing the Company field for each user.

Chart of Accounts

Your Bank Account Holder Information is located in your management bank account.  If your company’s bank account changed to reflect your new company name, you will probably want to update this information in Propertyware.

1.   Navigate to the Chart of Accounts section within Setup.

2.   Locate your management bank account in your Chart of Accounts and click the Edit button.

3.   Update the Description field, if appropriate.

4.   Update the Bank Account Holder field.

5.   When finished, click Save.

Note:  If your company opened a new bank account in the new company name, create a new bank account instead of updating your existing bank account information.

1.   Click on the Money Out tab.

Content page

1.   Click on the Portals tab.

2.   Click on the Content sub-navigation bar.  The active sub-navigation bar is displayed in yellow.
