When you choose the "Enable Direct Deposit to Bank Account" setting within Setup> Company Information, you allow payments that you receive from tenants on the Tenant Ledger to be placed directly into a Bank Account as opposed to being placed either within a Bank Deposit, or in Undeposited Funds.
Note, however, that enabling the Direct Deposit to Bank Account feature does not automatically place all payments into a bank account. It simply gives you the option to place payments in a bank account when you choose where to put the payments in the Deposit To dropdown menu, as shown in the image below.
Payments placed directly into a bank account will neither appear within Money In>Payments to Deposit, nor within any Open Bank Deposits.
Note: Under the Bank Accounts option, in the "Deposit To" drop down menu, there will be an option called Use Portfolio Default which, if checked in Full, will allow you to pay the charges using the portfolio's default bank account.
