Deactivating a Unit

Propertyware allows you to deactivate a Unit that you no longer manage. Before you can deactivate a Unit, you will need to terminate all leases attached to the Unit. A deactivated Unit will not count towards your subscription and its related data will appear only in the following places:

  • Income and Expenses recorded against this Unit will still be available in certain reports.
  • You may view the Unit's Summary Page on the Properties tab by selecting the Inactive radio button on the property navigator. Note that the Unit may be reactivated from this page.

To Deactivate an Active Unit:

  1. Search for the Unit or click the Properties Tab from any page of the application.
  2. Select the Unit you wish to deactivate from the Property Navigator menu on the left side bar. To simplify your search, use the "View By" Filter from within the Property Navigator menu to refine your search by building. All buildings will then display as menu items within the Property Navigator menu, each identifiable by name and a blue building icon. Click the "+" icon beside the building to view the Units within the building.
  3. Click on the appropriate unit name to view its detail.
  4. Select the Deactivate Unit option from the sidebar's Related Activities menu.
  5. A window will appear asking you to confirm the deactivation of the Unit. This action cannot be reversed. Click the Ok button to proceed.
  6. If you have terminated all active leases associated with the Unit you wish to deactivate, the Unit will then delete.

Useful Tips

Be sure to finish all of your business pertaining to the Unit before deactivating it (i.e., work orders, owner's statements, outstanding charges for leases, etc). Although Units can be reactivated, completing your related management business before deactivating the Unit will save time.

To Reactivate a Deactivated Unit:

You will need to have enough units licensed in your subscription to reactivate any desired Units. Note that only your Propertyware Administrator may perform this action.

  1. Go to the Properties tab and click the Inactive filter on the Property Navigator located in the left sidebar. Set the View By filter to Building to display deactivated properties in the Navigator. All Units are identifiable by name and a blue building icon with a red door.
  1. Select the Unit you wish to reactivate from the resulting list in Step 1.
  1. Click the red Reactivate button from the Unit Summary page.
  2. A window will appear asking you to confirm the reactivation of the Unit. Click the Ok button to proceed.
  3. Once a Unit has been reactivated, you can view it by using the Property Navigator or search.
