You may create, modify or delete Custom Fields for all areas of Propertyware from the Setup area of the Application. Please note that you need to be a Propertyware Administrator in order to take these actions.
To Create a Custom Field:

Click the Setup link from the top right corner of any page of the application.

From the Customize menu on the left sidebar of the page, click the Custom Fields link.

Click the link in the subnavigation bar that corresponds to the area of the application where you would like to add custom fields -- Assets, Buildings, Contacts, Leases, Prospects, Units, Vendors, Work Orders, or Application.

Choose from the following Data Fields for your custom field and click Save when you are finished. The Custom Field will appear in the area of the application you chose.

Field Name |
Enter the Name of the custom field as you want it to appear in the application. |

Data Type |
Select a Data Type, meaning the type of data content to be entered within the custom field. You may select from the following Data Type options: Text: Creates a field that will accept up to 100 characters of text and/or numbers. Number: Creates a field where users can enter any number, which will be treated as a real number where any leading zeros will be removed. Currency: Creates a field which translates inputted information into dollar and cent values. Percentage: Creates a field where users can enter a percentage number, for example, '100'. The system automatically adds the percent sign to the number (i.e., 100%). URL: Creates a field where user can enter a URL up to 100 characters. Does not require user to input the "http://" prefix. Date: Creates a field that allows users to enter a date formatted as mm/dd/yyyy or pick a date from a pop-up calendar. This is the only type of field that will allow you to create an associated alert for the field. Picklist: Creates a field that can have up to 9 different options, in list format, which users can choose from. Memo: Creates a field that allows users to enter unlimited free form text. |

Default Value |
In the event users do not input a value, enter a default value to be entered in its place. |

Required Field |
Select "yes" if you would like the custom field to appear as a required field for all users. Alternatively, select "no" to make the custom field optional. |

Picklist Options |
If you create a picklist custom field, enter values for your picklist options. |
To Edit or Delete a Custom Field:

Locate the applicable custom field. To edit the field, click the Edit link in the actions column, edit the field, and click Save. To delete the field, click the Del link in the actions column and then confirm the deletion.
