Creating Passwords
All new User Accounts must be assigned a User Password (also referred to as a "Password"). Whether auto generated or manually set, only your Propertyware Administrator may assign User Passwords.
- Manually Setting a Password - To manually set a Password for a new User Account, click Setup from the top right corner of any page of the application. From the Administration Setup menu located on the left side navigation, then click Manage Users | User Accounts | New User. This will take you to a detail screen with requested fields. From the Password field located at the bottom of the detail screen, manually type in a Password and then retype it in the password confirmation field below. For security reasons, the application will not accept a Password confirmation that is cut and pasted from the Password field. If a user requests a personalized password, it must be manually set.
- Auto Generating a Password - To auto generate a Password for a new User Account, click Setup from the top right corner of any page of the application. From the Administration Setup menu located on the left side navigation, then click Manage Users | User Accounts | New User. This will take you to a detail screen with requested fields. From the Password field located at the bottom of the detail screen, click the checkbox next to Auto Generate. This will trigger the application to randomly generate a Password and email it to the user. An auto generated Password is kept hidden from an Administrator.
Resetting Passwords
Only your Propertyware Administrator may reset User Passwords within your organization. To reset or change a Password for an existing User Account, click Setup from the top right corner of any page of the application. From the Administration Setup menu located on the left side navigation, then click Manage Users | User Accounts. This will take you to the User Accounts Page. From here, click the Edit button next to the Status column for the User Account you wish to reset a Password. From the edit screen, reset the Password and retype the Password confirmation for that user and then click Save.
Alternatively, from the User Accounts Page, click on that user's name from the Full Name column and a User Detail Page will appear with the user's contact information. From the User Detail Page, an Administrator may edit the user's account information, change the user's password, and grant a Propertyware representative access into the account for technical support purposes.
Forgot Your Password?
Users who have lost their password may click the "Forget Your Password?" link on the failed login page. The system will retrieve their password and email it to the email address specified.
