A Portfolio is an easy-to-use folder system of Buildings and Units organized by property owner. If you are a property management company, you will be prompted to create a Portfolio for each owner whose properties you manage. On the other hand, if you own and manage real estate investments of your own, Propertyware will create a Default Portfolio in the name of your company which will appear within the Property Navigator menu. This Default Portfolio may be used to separately manage and track the performance of your own portfolio. Organizing property information based on ownership scenario adds organizational simplicity throughout the application, allowing both property investors to capably manage their own diversified portfolios and property management companies to effectively manage multiple portfolios for various owners.
Portfolio Naming Conventions
A Portfolio should be named after its property owner. If the buildings and units within the Portfolio are co-owned, name the Portfolio after its co-owners by hyphenating each name. For example, if you manage properties owned by Donald Trump, you may organize his buildings and units within a Portfolio named "Trump-D." If you manage properties co-owned by Donald Trump and John Smith, you may organize the co-owned buildings and units within a Portfolio named "Trump-Smith."
